september 30 - October 4
The students will continue in the study of motion and forces. Many have misconceptions about the relationship among speed, distance, time, and acceleration. Analyzing these components through lab activities and discussion will assist the students in providing evidence for better understanding of the concepts. Students are encouraged to come before and after school for any assistance they might need.
Students are to be thinking of a topic for their science fair projects. I will be asking for the final topic on October 3. We will then work on the process of developing a science fair project to be judged in February.
According to the Next Generation Science Standards, students should know facts and processes in science in preparation for their individual lives and for their roles as citizens in this technology-rich and scientifically complex world. Therefore, the goals for this class are to build upon your prior learning and develop your understanding of science through practice, hands-on activities, and individual study.
